Map outline: Natural EarthLeave Reykjavík for the south, stopping around Hella and the waterfalls beyond. Keep the first driving day modest and leave room for weather to shift the sequence.
Use Vík as a base for coastline views and an optional guided glacier experience. Never enter glacier terrain independently; guides select suitable routes and equipment.
Continue toward Jökulsárlón and Höfn for ice and mountain horizons. Lagoon excursions are seasonal and weather dependent; shoreline viewpoints can be equally memorable.
Return west over two stages with time to revisit a favorite place. Protect the final travel day with a comfortable airport transfer and a buffer for disruption.
